Lecturer

Mounir Shita, a visionary in the field of Artificial Intelligence, has carved a distinctive niche in the realm of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) research. With a career spanning over two decades, Mounir has been at the forefront of exploring and defining the frontiers of intelligent systems.

His journey into the world of AI began in the late 1990s, ignited by a fascination with the potential of technology to mimic and surpass human intelligence. His academic pursuits, though brief in traditional settings, were marked by a relentless quest for knowledge, leading him to delve deeper into the uncharted territories of AGI. This pursuit was not confined to academia; it continued as the driving force behind Kimera Systems, his former startup. Under his leadership, Kimera Systems emerged as a pioneering entity in AGI research until its unfortunate closure due to external pressures.

Mounir's unique approach to AGI is rooted in his development of a scientific theory of intelligence, a quest he embarked on after recognizing the lack of a solid theoretical foundation in AI research. His "Theory of General Intelligence," presented at the International Conference for Advanced Research in Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology, challenges conventional AI paradigms and proposes a comprehensive framework for understanding intelligence at a cosmic scale.

In his groundbreaking book "Science of Intelligence," Mounir Shita delves deep into the intricacies of his theory, arguing for the establishment of intelligence as a distinct field within physics. His perspective transcends traditional boundaries, suggesting that intelligence should be explored not only through the lenses of neuroscience, AI, and psychology but as a fundamental phenomenon of the universe.

Mounir's passion for AI extends beyond theoretical research. He is a champion for the practical application of AGI and ASI (Artificial Superintelligence), advocating for their development based on solid scientific principles. His efforts in this domain are not just about advancing technology; they are about reshaping our understanding of intelligence and its role in the future of humanity and beyond.

Panelist

Mr. Elan Taylor is a distinguished figure in the field of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), with a rich background in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. His significant contributions to AGI began during his influential tenure at Kimera Systems, where he served as Vice President of Architecture and Director of Intellectual Property. In this role, Mr. Taylor was instrumental in developing AGI intellectual property strategies, aligning closely with the company’s pioneering research in Artificial General Intelligence.

An accomplished author, Mr. Taylor has written extensively on robotics and AI, elucidating complex concepts and technologies in these fields. His books are renowned for providing deep insights into the evolving landscape of AI, making them valuable resources for both experts and enthusiasts alike.

Currently, Mr. Taylor is deeply engaged in research exploring the intersection of AI and consciousness. His work focuses on defining consciousness within the realm of AI, aiming to establish a clear language and framework for constructing Synthetic Conscious AIs (SCAI). This research is particularly relevant to discussions on the Theory of General Intelligence, as it delves into the core of what constitutes intelligence and consciousness in artificial systems.

Mr. Taylor’s unique combination of hands-on experience in AGI development, his authoritative voice in the AI literature, and his groundbreaking research on AI consciousness makes him a highly qualified and insightful contributor to any discussion on the Theory of General Intelligence.
