Part-Time Event Manager/Host
(1099 Gig worker)

Global Economic Alliance (GEA) is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dynamic and engaging individual to join our team as a Part-Time Event Manager/Host. While you will be based in the vibrant city of Portland, OR, this role takes you far beyond, as our events span across the United States and, in the future, around the globe. Key Requirements

  • Event Preparation: Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, vendor management, and logistics. Ensure each event is executed flawlessly from conception to conclusion.

  • Hosting and Public Speaking: Serve as the face of our events, providing warm welcomes, engaging introductions, and lively commentary. Your charisma and eloquence will be key in making each event a success.

  • Travel for Events: Be ready to explore new horizons! Our events take place in various locations, and you'll have the opportunity to travel from Thursday to Saturday for most events. All travel expenses will be covered by the company, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional experiences.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with our marketing and operations teams to promote events and ensure seamless execution. Your input will be invaluable in crafting memorable events that align with our brand's vision.


Requirements

  • Must be located in Portland, OR.
  • Proven experience in event management or hosting.
  • Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with presenting science topics to diverse audiences. While expertise in science is not required, the ability to engage and inform audiences on science-related subjects is crucial.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel for events across the United States and potentially internationally.
  • Must have, or have the ability to obtain, a passport. This is essential for participation in future global events.
  • Creative thinker with an eye for detail.


Compensation

As a Part-Time Event Manager/Host classified as a 1099 gig worker, you will be compensated with a flat fee for each event you work on, plus a profit-sharing bonus based on the success of the event. This model is designed to not only reward your hard work and dedication but also to share the success of the events you help bring to life. The flat fee will be competitive and commensurate with your experience, ensuring that you are fairly compensated for your time and effort.

The profit-sharing component is a testament to our belief in the power of teamwork and shared goals. It allows you to directly benefit from the events' success, creating a more engaging and rewarding working relationship. Details of the profit-sharing formula will be discussed during the hiring process, providing transparency and understanding of how your contributions will be recognized financially.
